Kazakhstani geologists in search of new and rare metals

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The Government of Kazakhstan has earmarked nearly 161 billion tenge for exploration works this year.
"Geologists will focus on search for complex ores, rare metals, gold and copper in 2014, as Kazakhstan is fully provided with basic mineral resources - coal and iron," Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies Nurlan Sauranbayev said at the Tuesday press conference. On Tuesday, the Cabinet approved the program of exploration works for 2015-2019 to ensure assessment of Kazakhstan's predicted resources.
