Kazakhstani farmers brought 12,000 heads of breeding cattle from Canada
As part of the round table, organized by Kazakhstan house of entrepreneurs, domestic agricultural producers had the opportunity to learn about Canada as a leading producer of beef and dairy cattle, animal feed, as well as the latest technologies used by Canadians in the industry. The purpose of the meeting was to establish commercial partnership with Kazakhstani livestock producers, according to the Embassy of Canada to Kazakhstan. Canada is a world leader in beef production and cattle breeding. Profit from beef cattle in this country is more than USD 6, 6 billion per year. The event was organized within the framework of the official visit of the trade mission, represented by leading suppliers of cattle in Canada, such as Xports International, Wellard Group Canada, Canadian tribal associations and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Province of Alberta, which has more than 40% of Canadian cattle. The province has over three million head of cattle, and Alberta beef has a healthy worldwide market. Nearly one half of all Canadian beef is produced in Alberta. Alberta is one of the top producers of plains buffalo (bison) for the consumer market. Sheep for wool and mutton are also raised. The round table discussed the Kazakh livestock not having avoided the issues of import of foreign breeding stock. Canadian cattle are widely used not only in Canada but also in other countries around the world. "In recent years, Kazakhstan's farmers have brought to the country more than 12 000 heads of breeding cattle from Canada", the statement reads. The delegation plans to visit the city of Astana and Kostanay region.
