Kazakhstani doctors to adopt best S Korean practices

UST-KAMENOGORSK. KAZINFORM - The East Kazakhstan region has signed a three-year, $1-million memorandum with South Korea on modernization of ambulance service, the press service of the region's governor confirms.

"We closely cooperate with our colleagues in South Korea," says head of the regional healthcare department Vadim Ovsyannikov. "A master class in breast care will be conducted for our medical workers in June. In addition, specialists from South Korea will perform 20 mammary gland surgeries free of charge here in eastern Kazakhstan." The East Kazakhstan region also continues its cooperation with MVI Medical Center in Israel as part of the deal signed in 2012. "Local authorities have earmarked 14.7 million tenge from the regional budget to extend cooperation with the center in 2014. Our doctors have attended numerous master classes and trainings in Israel. The final master class will be held in Kazakhstan this July," Mr. Ovsyannikov adds. In his words, our specialists have adopted the best surgical practices of their Israeli colleagues.
