Kazakhstani athlete pockets bronze medal at Asian Fencing Championships in India

Kazakh épée fencer Ruslan Kurbanov won a bronze medal at the Asian Fencing Championships in Delhi, India, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the National Olympic Committee.
The Kazakh athlete advanced to the semifinals, where he faced Zhang Li of Chinese Taipei. In a hard-fought match for a place in the final, Kurbanov lost 12-15 and finished the tournament with a bronze medal.
Kazakhstan’s Kirill Prokhodov, Yerlik Sertay, and Nikita Zhulinsky secured fifth, ninth, and 24th places respectively.
