Kazakhstan welcomed 46 sets of triplets in 2024
There were 365,900 babies born in Kazakhstan in 12 months of 2024, down from 388,400 in 2023, Kazinform News Agency cites the National Statistics Bureau.

Statistics show that out of 365,900 babies born, 51.6% were boys and 48.4% were girls. 219,100 babies were born in cities and 146,700 in villages.
The total fertility rate stood at 18.15 live births per 1,000 women in Kazakhstan in 2024, a slight decrease from 19.52 live births per 1,000 women in 2023. Fertility rates were highest in Turkistan (24.88 live births per 1,000 women), Mangistau (24.29) regions and Shymkent city (23.58).
The highest number of children were born to women aged between 25 and 29 years – 27.5% and women aged between 30 and 34 years – 26.2%. Women under the age of 20 years gave birth to 11,900 babies, while women over 50 years old – 100 babies. The median age of Kazakhstani women for giving birth was 29.8 years.
Out of 365,900 babies born, 23% (84,200 children) were firstborns, while 16.4% (over 60,000) were fourth children.
Throughout 2024, Kazakhstan welcomed 3,721 sets of twins and 46 triplet births.
