Kazakhstan, Vietnam strengthen bilateral cooperation
On April 6 Y. Kazykhanov met with Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung to discuss the state and prospects of further expansion of the relations between Kazakhstan and Vietnam. The parties agreed that both countries had huge potential for development of interaction in energy, light industry, agriculture and cultural-humanitarian sector. The Kazakh Vice FM extended an official message to the Head of the Vietnamese Government from Kazakh Premier Karim Massimov.
On the same day Y. Kazykhanov held negotiations with Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Le Danh Vinh concerning the bilateral cooperation in trade-economic sphere. The parties agreed to hold the 5th session of the Intergovernmental Commission in autumn 2011 in Astana. A joint Action Plan between Kazakhstan and Vietnam for 2011-2012 is expected to be signed during this event.
On April 7 both countries' Ministries of Foreign Affairs held consultations in Hanoi. The Vietnamese side was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son. During the talks the diplomats discussed development of Kazakhstan-Vietnam cooperation, in particular, establishment of close political dialogue at all levels, strengthening interaction within the international organizations and forums as well as development the regulatory-legal framework of cooperation between the two countries.
