Kazakhstan, Venezuela to strengthen cooperation in tourism and sport
Minister of Tourism and Sport Yermek Marzhikpayev has had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Kazakhstan, Rosalba Lo Bue Antico, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The meeting focused on the prospects of development of the bilateral cooperation in tourism and sport.
Yermek Marzhikpayev congratulated the people of Venezuela on Independence Day and wished them further prosperity.
“Our countries have enormous tourism potential. Despite that we observe low level of tourist flow. According to statistics, 243 Venezuelan tourists visited Kazakhstan last year, while no Kazakhstani citizen traveled to Venezuela,” said Marzhikpayev adding that the situation is linked to the lack of direct flights and presence of visa requirements.
He suggested working on these issues more thoroughly to increase tourist flow and to boost cooperation.
The Kazakh Minister also reminded of the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris and wished high results to the foreign athletes.
In turn, the Venezuelan Ambassador put forward a number of initiatives and projects in sport and tourism called to promote cooperation.
She also proposed to sign a number of bilateral documents between the two countries’ sport ministries.
Yermek Marzhikpayev asked Rosalba Lo Bue Antico to assist in participation of Venezuelan athletes in the V World Nomad Games scheduled for September 8-13 in Astana.
At the end of the meeting, the Kazakh Minister invited Venezuelan tour operators to partake in the Tourism & Travel International Exhibition to be held in Kazakhstan in 2025.
