Kazakhstan, Venezuela to cooperate in oil & gas sphere

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan and Venezuela are to cooperate in oil and gas sphere, Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov said after holding talks with his colleague Delcy Rodriguez, the Minister of the People's Power of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivian Republic of Venezuela, in Astana.

"Both Kazakhstan and Venezuela are oil and gas producing countries. Of, course oil and gas sphere is an important aspect of our partnership. Kazakhstan and Venezuela will certainly boost cooperation in this sector," Minister Idrissov said. The Venezuelan official, in her turn, stressed that during negotiations Venezuela and Kazakhstan reiterated their readiness to expand and deepen cooperation. Ms Rodriguez thanked Kazakhstan for supporting Venezuela in foreign policy issues and also wished Kazakhstan success in being elected as the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018. Following the bilateral negotiations in Astana, the Kazakh and Venezuelan foreign ministries inked the Memorandum on political consultations.
