Kazakhstan, Turkey sign agreements worth $1 billion: MFA

ASTANA. October 15. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan and Turkey signed agreements worth $1 billion in the course of Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to Istanbul last week.

"These agreements related to an array of joint projects were reached within a business forum that took place during the official visit of the Kazakh leader to Turkey," Altai Abibullayev, spokesperson of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, told Monday briefing.

"Both top-level visits to Russia and Turkey were dated to 20 years of establishment of the diplomatic relations with these countries and were pretty successful. As a result, the sides signed a wide range of important bilateral agreements," A. Abibullayev said.

He also added that Kazakhstan's President met with his Russian counterpart in Moscow, and held the first session of the Strategic Cooperation Council with the participation of Turkish PM Recep Erdogan in Istanbul which resulted in signing of "New Synergy" Joint Economic Program.
