Kazakhstan, Turkey enjoy high level of cooperation: Nazarbayev

In the course of the meeting President Nazarbayev noted that over 20 years of Kazakhstan's independence the relations between the two countries had reached high level, the President's press service reports.

"Kazakhstan and Turkey enjoy dynamic cooperation both in the commercial and cultural spheres. The countries exchange top-level visits on a regular basis. The Cooperation Council of Turkic countries has been established on order to strengthen our relationship. In addition, there are 20 Kazakh-Turkic lyceums and two universities across Kazakhstan. This demonstrates mutual trust and high dynamics of development of the relations between the nations. It is crucial to consolidate the parliamentary ties between Kazakhstan and Turkey at the high level," the Head of State stressed.

Speaker of Turkey's Grand National Assembly Jemil Cicek thanked the Kazakh Leader for meeting with him and extended greetings from Turkey's leadership.

"This is not my first visit to Kazakhstan and every time I come here I see how the country and its capital Astana are developing. The aim of this visit is to further the interparliamentary ties between our states," J. Cicek said.

The meeting focused on the problems of bilateral cooperation and development of the interparliamentary ties between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
