Kazakhstan tourism market attractive for Egypt

ALMATY. October 26. KAZINFORM. /Yelena Ilyinskaya/ Kazakhstan's tourism market is very perspective and attractive for Egypt that expects a twofold increase of tourist flow from Kazakhstan in 2010. Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt Sami Mahmoud has said it at the presentation of a direct flight connection between Kazakhstan and Egypt in Almaty today.

According to Mr. Mahmoud, 22,000 Kazakh tourists visited Egypt in 2008 while in 2007 their number was only about 11,000. "The number of Kazakhstani tourists increased twofold for a year", he emphasized. He also noted that the tourist flow reduced only by 5% while the forecast was 20-25%.

"In whole 12.5 million tourists visited Egypt in 2008. 64% out of them were from Western Europe, particularly 1.8 million from Russia, 1 about 1 million from Germany, Britain and Italy. The tourism revenue amounted to USD 11 billion. Undoubtedly, tourism is one of the key budget items in Egypt", S. Mahmoud said.
