Kazakhstan to take part in EU - Central Asia ministerial conference in Brussels

ASTANA. September 14. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Ministerial conference in the format of EU - Central Asia with participation of the foreign affairs ministers of the European Union member states and Central Asian countries will take place in Brussels on September 15. Official representative of the Kazakh MFA Yerzhan Ashikbayev has made it public at a briefing today.
He noted that the EU would be represented by Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Lithuania and Latvia. "Heads of the European Commission and Council of the European Union and representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and European Investment Bank will take part in the forum. Our country will be represented by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kazakhstan National Coordinator for Interaction with the EU Konstantin Zhigalov", Mr. Ashikbayev said.
The issues of border control, struggle against extremism and drug trafficking, the situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran, the problem of the Aral Sea, macroeconomic tendencies and others will be discussed.
