Kazakhstan to support Kyrgyz farmers

According to O.Babanov, supporting the national farmers and carrying out the spring sowing campaign are one of the main directions of the Kyrgyz Government's activity today. Due to the tendency towards increase in prices of essential goods the quality of the sowing campaign is of special importance for the country. It is considered among the measures to curb food prices. In this regard, the Government developed a complex program on farmers' support "Affordable Loans to Farmers" totaling KGS 1 bln. As O.Babanov noted, the program would be launched soon.

O.Babanov also said that 10 thousand tons of wheat were allocated for its processing into flour and distributing among the socially vulnerable population. 8 thousand tons of diesel fuel were also allocated for carrying out the spring sowing campaign and support of the national agricultural producers. Besides, following the results of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz intergovernmental negotiations the Kazakh side will render support to Kyrgyzstan and organize shipment of around 10 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 10 thousand ton of gasoline Ai-80 by May 1, 2011. Kazakhstan will also allocate around 500 tons of corn seeds to Kyrgyzstan.
