Kazakhstan to supply electricity to Russia and Belarus without intermediaries

KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ A new Agreement between the Customs Union member states enables Kazakhstan to supply electivity to the Russian and Belarusian markets without intermediaries. Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Duisenbai Turganov made it public at a briefing in Astana.

According to him, Kazakhstan plans to increase the export potential by 2.9 bln kilowatt-hours by 2015. The economic effect of export of such amount of electricity will be up to KZT 7 bln. This electivity can be sold both to Russia and Belarus.

The Agreement "On access to services of natural monopolies including the pricing bases and tariff policy in the field of electricity" signed by Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus will come into force on January 1, 2011.
