Kazakhstan to spend 8 bln tenge on textbooks in 2014

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan has earmarked more than 8 billion tenge in 2014 to buy new textbooks for schoolchildren, according to Minister of Education and Science Aslan Sarinzhipov.
"The ministry has made sure that all schools in Kazakhstan are provided with textbooks this year. To this end, we've allotted 8,3 billion tenge," Minister Sarinzhipov told the Monday press conference in Astana. He stressed that there will be no problems with shortage of textbooks in the upcoming academic year. Mr. Sarinzhipov also added that quality of textbooks has dramatically improved thanks to new standards developed by the ministry.
