Kazakhstan to spend 2.5 bln tenge on electronic bracelets for convicts

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan is set to spend nearly 2.5 billion tenge on electronic bracelets for convicts, according to Vice Minister of Internal Affairs Yerlik Kenenbayev.
In his words, the new electronic tracking devices will be introduced for convicts countrywide in line with the new Penitentiary Code. "To this end, we are preparing a package of documents for the Ministry of Investments and Development. The republican budgetary commission has already earmarked 2.5 billion tenge to be spent on new devices," Mr. Kenenbayev said.
