Kazakhstan to set up Geological Research Center

"We propose to establish the Center of Geological Research. We already work on it," G.Nurzhanov said.

He noted that the Center of Geological Research of Kazakhstan will become a center of competence combining production, scientific and educational potential of the country on a fundamental basis for the development and implementation of best practices, innovative ideas, exploration methods and technologies on the model of foreign countries on the basis of JSC "Kazgeology".

The main areas of its activity will be processing and integrated interpretation of geological, geophysical, and geochemical data, borehole, integrated analysis, computer simulation and evaluation of forecast resources and ore reserves in line with international standards.

In addition, the center will conduct laboratory-analytical, geochemical surveys, as well as the pilot, pilot and scientific and experimental work.

It should be noted that the center will have a core storage, paleontological and mineral-petrographic museums.

The Nazarbayev University is ready to provide land for the center.
