Kazakhstan to revitalize OSCE ? conference in Almaty

KAZINFORM. /Dauren Zhailin/ ?Successful activity of the OSCE is an important instrument of Kazakhstan?s positioning as a regional power foe maintaining order and peace in Central Asia?, expert of ?Science and Policy? Fund and German Institute for International and Security Affairs Andrea Smith has said at the VII annual Almaty conference ?Central Asia in term of geopolitical transformation and world economic crisis? today.
She noted three important factors that helped Kazakhstan gain chairmanship in the OSCE. Among them is Kazakhstan?s growing strategic significance as a partner of western countries in stabilization of the Afghanistan situation; dynamic economic growth; urgency of energy supply issues.
According to the German expert, Kazakhstan will revitalize the organization.
