Kazakhstan to review minimum social standards once in 3 years: Minister of Economy

ASTANA. November 6. KAZINFORM Minimum social standards are to be reviewed at least once per three years, excluding minimum subsistence level, daily and monthly working hours and duration of the annual leave, Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Erbolat Dossayev told a round table at the Majilis (Lower Chamber of the Kazakh Parliament) on Wednesday.

"Financial provision of the minimum social standards and guarantees when forming and implementing the republican and local budgets is to be carried out on the basis of gradual promotion of living standards taking into account economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan," Minister Dossayev said.

The Minister explained the minimum social standard is the volume of social services and monetary payments ensuring the realization of social guarantees and rights of Kazakhstani citizens specified in the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other legal acts. The minimum social standards are set and used in the following spheres: labor, social protection, education, health care, culture, physical culture and sport, housing relations, and guaranteed state legal assistance.

The Majilis meeting also focused on the provision of minimum social standards in the light of the tasks set up by the Head of State in the "Kazakhstan-2050" Development Strategy: new political course of the established state.
