Kazakhstan to replenish its aircraft fleet with 25 new planes by end of 2025
Speaking to the expanded meeting of the board of the transport ministry of Kazakhstan, Transport Minister Marat Karabayev announced the main tasks set before the domestic aviation sector for 2025, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the ministry.

According to him, construction of the new passenger terminals at airports of Shymkent, Kyzylorda and Almaty cities will be completed this year. So, the airport throughput capacity will rise five times to up to 14 million passengers in Almaty, six times to two million passengers in Kyzylorda, and seven times to six million passengers in Shymkent.
The Emirati investor is set to commence repairing of the runway at the Kazakh capital’s airport at the expense of own funds.
Also, works are to begin to reconstruct the runway of Pavlodar city’s airport and the platform and taxiways of the airport in Balkhash.
The country also seeks to attract private investors to create multimodal centers at airports.
It was noted that it is planned to replenish the aircraft fleet of the country with 25 planes by the end of 2025.
The country is also increasing the amount of jet fuel it imports, including JET A-1, to address the jet fuel shortage. It was added that the Almaty airport’s refueling complex will switch to JET A-1 fuel starting from June 2024.
The ministry also considers the direct purchases of jet fuel by airlines to avoid rising prices.
In the next six years, the number of passengers will be increased by 2 times and the amount of cargo handled by 7%, said the Kazakh transport minister.
