The new Eurasian continental bridge, stretching 11,870 kilometers, connects the Chinese city of Lianyungang and Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Eurasian countries are striving to develop a new railway line that will reflect positively on the growth of trade between China and other countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, says China Daily.

According to the Chinese experts, exporters and importers of goods are saving on logistics and get security guarantees for goods when using the new continental route.

The main items of Chinese exports, including electronics, can be transported by the new route, says the expert of China Transport Association Minzu Go.

Rail transport is more efficient than transporting goods by sea. Delivery of goods via new Eurasian Continental Bridge is five times faster than shipping by sea, according to China Transport Association.

China's exports of high technology products is the main driving force behind the growth of trade between China and other SCO members. Electronics export is about 30% of China's exports to Russia and Central Asia. Since the founding of the SCO in 2001, the volume of trade between China and other SCO members have increased from $ 12.1 billion to $ 111 billion in 2011.

It should be recalled that in 1995 Kazakhstan and China signed the agreement on the use of the Chinese port of Lianyungang by Kazakhstan for freight. China's new leadership pays attention to the evolution of the port of Lianyungang and expansion of container traffic via the transcontinental bridge.

Construction and leasing of terminal facilities in the ports of China, the development of transport and logistics services are also in the focus of attention of the Government of Kazakhstan. Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov in his interview to "Express" newspaper said that among the key projects was the construction of its own terminal infrastructure in the Chinese port of Lianyungang. According to Serik Ahmetov these measures will open up new markets for Kazakhstan.

"One of the most striking evidence of mutually comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan is actively developing cooperation in the transport sector", said in Beijing the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev in China on Tuesday at the press conference marking the 10th anniversary of opening the first Air Astana flight connection between Kazakhstan and China.

Lianyungang Port, located in Jiangsu Province (East China), has a favorable geographical position. It is connected via rail services with other major Chinese ports, Qingdao, Tyantszyan, Shanghai, and has the sea line with the Korean port of Busan and the Japanese port of Osaka.
