Kazakhstan to keep developing nuclear sector: PM

TANA. October 5. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan will continue to develop its nuclear industry, Prime Minister Karim Massimov said here Tuesday.
"The tragic events at the Japanese nuclear power station Fukushima give us another opportunity to think about the development of the sector. We believe Kazakhstan has all the capabilities to develop nuclear energy," Massimov said at the 6th Kazenergy Eurasian Forum.
"We also believe that the lessons of Fukushima should contribute to the creation of a safer nuclear energy sector," Massimov said.
According to Xinhua, the prime minister said Kazakhstan in June had adopted an energy development program aimed at building the country's first nuclear power station.
