Kazakhstan to head Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan was elected a chair country of the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development at the fifth session of the forum held May 19-21 in Thailand, the Kazakh Environment Ministry said.

The forum is purposed to attract attention of the government to economic, social, financial, environmental spheres development problems. Representatives of the countries of the region, concerned international development institutions, scientific and financial organizations, business and industries attended it. Vice Minister of Environment and Water Resources Bektas Mukhamedzhanov represented there Kazakhstan. Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development is carried out under the aegis of the ESCATO in an effort to contribute to regional dialogue on development issues.
