Kazakhstan to extend port of Aktau to north

ASTANA. October 27. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan is implementing a project on extending the Kazakh international trade seaport of Aktau to the north to increase freight flow through the international transport and transit corridors, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan reported on Wednesday.

According to Trend , this statement was made by Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Asylbek Duisebayev in Aktau at the expanded meeting on maritime safety.
Research of hydrocarbon reserves in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea is going on. Naval operations support bases in Bautino port of the Tyupkaraganskiy Gulf are operative actively. The Kuryk Port has great prospects for development.
"Over the past ten year Kazakhstan increased number of ships by seven times up to 289 items," the report said.
In the city of Aktau, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan Asylbek Duisebayev held an enlarged meeting on maritime safety.
