Kazakhstan to export 32 mln tons of coal by 2014

ASTANA. October 1. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ "Kazakhstan will export 32 mln tons of coal by 2014. Such results are provided by the implementation of the power sector development program for 2010-2014", Kazakh Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Duisenbai Turganov said Friday at the briefing.
The Vice Minister also noted that the program forecasts coal production growth from 94.3 mln tons in 2009 to 123 mln tons in 2014 to meet the domestic demands.
In order to achieve this goal the Ministry plans to accomplish transition of the coal sector's enterprises to international standards that will allow increasing competitive ability of their products at the foreign markets.
"By 2014 investments to the coal industry will make about KZT 235 bln", D.Turganov said.
