Kazakhstan to establish National Council for Literature and Arts

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The National Council for Literature and Arts under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is to be established, Minister of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly announced at a press conference on Friday.

"It is the first time that such institution will be established in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The National Council for Literature and Arts will help make institutional and structural changes in that sphere and better coordinate management problems," Minister Mukhamediuly told the press conference at KazMedia Center. According to him, as the key advisory and consultative body, the council will implement Kazakhstan's cultural policy. It will be comprised of Kazakhstani lawmakers, members of the government, heads of creative unions, public figures, and businessmen.
