Kazakhstan to cooperate with international observers in a constructive way - Idrissov

Minister Idrissov briefed Ms. Jonker on the work done by the ministry on preparations for the early presidential elections. He noted that Kazakhstan intends to hold transparent and fair elections in accordance with the norms of national legislation and high international standards and is interested in constructive cooperation with international observers. "Observance of the elections is an important instrument of promoting democracy and human rights. Kazakhstan sets a stress on the quality of the process of observance which largely depends on the composition of the election observation mission," Minister Idrissov noted. Kazakhstan and the OSCE have rich history of cooperation including Kazakhstan's chairmanship in 2010, holding of the OSCE Summit in Astana and adoption of the Astana Declaration, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service. Mr. Idrissov expressed confidence that the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan will ensure high organizational level of the upcoming elections taking into account recommendations previously made by the OSCE and other relevant international organizations. Ms. Jonker, in turn, noted the readiness of the mission for unbiased and objective election monitoring.
