Kazakhstan seeks to add 455.5MW of renewable energy sources as well as 166MW of traditional generating capacities to its power grid in 2025, said Satkaliyev during an extended meeting of the Energy Ministry Board on Wednesday in Astana.

The speaker said, ‘this will boost the country’s power generation as well as contribute to the reliability of electricity supply’.

According to Satkaliyev, works are ongoing to overhaul 323km of the country’s heating networks in 2025.

As earlier reported, Kazakhstan plans to produce 96.2 million tons of crude oil, primarily driven by the Tengiz oilfield expansion project.
