Kazakhstan to accept KazSat 3 into service this September

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan's KazSat 3 satellite will be accepted into service September this year," chairman of the National Space Agency of Kazakhstan Talgat Mussabayev told a briefing at the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan held in Astana.

According to him, the satellite is expected to reach its orbital position at 58.5 degrees East longitude mid-May. KazSat 3 will operate for a 15 years lifetime. The payload power is about 5.5 kW. KazSat 3 will carry 28 active Ku-band transponders covering Kazakhstan and neighboring countries. As earlier reported, KazSat 3 was launched from the Baikonur Space Centre on April 28 at 10:25.
