Kazakhstan takes unprecedented measures for holding elections in transparent and open atmosphere - K. Tokayev

ASTANA. March 31. KAZINFORM Senate Speaker Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has received Tonino Picula, Special Coordinator of the OSCE Election Observation Mission and head of observation delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, today.

The Speaker noted great interest the international society pays to the presidential elections in Kazakhstan. More than 80 observers only from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will be involved in monitoring of the elections, the press service of the Senate informs.

Putting emphasis on the importance of this event for the history of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev said that this election campaign was held under conditions of open and transparent environment and met all international standards and principles.

"All candidates for presidency have equal access to the media that ensures full coverage of their election campaigns. Kazakhstan takes unprecedented measures for holding elections in transparent and open atmosphere," the Speaker emphasized expressing his confidence that the upcoming elections would be fair.

Tonino Picula, in his turn, said that the Mission fully realized its responsibility for monitoring the elections and already began its work.
