Kazakhstan takes over SCO Chair

TASHKENT. June 11. KAZINFORM /Kurmat Samarkhan/ Kazakhstan has taken over the chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization today.
Summing up the results of the SCO Summit in Tashkent Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov delegated power of the SCO chair to his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev.
As N. Nazarbayev noted, as SCO Chair Kazakhstan will make every effort to continue deepening of multilateral cooperation. "Special attention will be paid to activation of international contacts aimed at positioning the SCO as an authoritative subject of the world geopolitics", the President emphasized.
The Head of the State expressed confidence that through joint efforts all the task would be realized. "I hope to see you in Astana on June 15, 2011 - the Day of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization", N. Nazarbayev said addressing the heads of the SCO states.
