Kazakhstan takes certain steps to strengthen security in region - UN High Representative for Alliance of Civilizations Jorge Sampaio

The parties exchanged views on further development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Alliance of Civilizations, including implementation of the projects initiated by the Alliance in intercultural dialogue, the press service of the Senate informs.

"Kazakhstan attaches great importance to partnership with the Alliance and supports its goals and objectives. The Ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan has almost finished development of a National Action Plan under the Alliance of Civilizations, the adoption of which will give positive impetus to further development of cooperation of Kazakhstan with the Alliance and promotion of its ideas in Kazakhstan society ", Tokayev said.

J. Sampaio noted an important role of Kazakhstan in promotion of global inter-civilization and interfaith dialogue, strengthening tolerance and mutual adaptation of cultures.

According to the High Representative of the UN, Kazakhstan as an active member of the Group of Friends of the Alliance, takes certain steps to strengthen security and stability in the region.
