Kazakhstan - Switzerland migrant return treaty ratified
"This agreement was signed in Bern in March 4, 2010. On behalf of the two states it was inked by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Switzerland. The document provides for procedures to identify and return persons who violated the conditions of entry and stay on the territory of the countries. Under this category are persons who illegally entered the territory of the country, or who have entered legally but left after the expiry of the visa or residence permit, "said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Turgumbayev presenting the draft law.
Y.Turgumbayev noted that the agreement provided for a modern and progressive mechanism for the return of migrants. The agreement's entry into force is the basic condition for the establishment of a visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic passports, and later for holders of common national passports of the two states.
