Kazakhstan starts third decade of independence with political modernization - Nazarbayev

The third decade of independence, we start with political modernization, said N. Nazarbayev at the opening of the first joint meeting of the Parliament of Kazakhstan of the V convocation.

"Today is an especially important day. Our supreme legislative body has been re-elected. The recent elections to the Majilis were a turning point in the history of independence. We have made important step to a bright future, and reached the high-road to democratic development. We have entered a new stage of development with the new Parliament. With all my heart I congratulate new Parliament members, who won people's confidence, and I wish them great achievements," Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.

The President emphasized that the recent events in our country even more united people of Kazakhstan. The country has chosen stability and harmony, peace and understanding.

"This is the overall success of our countrymen who voted for the development and prosperity, the total creative triumph," he said.
