Kazakhstan should consider India as developing strategic partner - S. Krishna

ASTANA. May 12. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ "Kazakhstan should consider India not only as a market, but as a dynamically developing strategic partner", India Foreign Minister Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna has said today at the forum "Kazakhstan - India" in Astana.

According to him, the relations between the two states develop successfully, particularly over the past few years. He noted that the countries had a huge potential of economic cooperation. The Minister expressed hope that the states could reach even greater increase in commodity circulation this year. "The growing economies of Kazakhstan and India should have bilateral economic and trade relations amounting to several billions of US dollars", he resumed.
According to the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and India reached USD 253.3 million in 2009. More than 200 companies with Indian capital operate in Kazakhstan.
