Kazakhstan sees drop in meat imports - Agriculture Ministry

"Imports of poultry and dairy products in Kazakhstan are down by 12% and 3% respectively. Experts say that there is positive dynamics in livestock numbers in the country demonstrating the enhanced positions of local producers," Yerkebulan Akhmetov, acting director of the agricultural production and processing department, said at a ministerial meeting chaired by Agriculture Minister Assylzhan Mamytbekov. In his words, domestic livestock and poultry farms have seen a 20% increase in livestock and poultry numbers over the past couple of years.
