Kazakhstan, San Marino agree to step up economic cooperation

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of San Marino have signed a memorandum of cooperation that will open a new page in bilateral relations of the two countries.

Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov and Foreign Minister of San Marino Pasquale Valentini inked the memo in Astana on Tuesday. "It is with great pleasure that we welcome the official delegation of San Marino in Kazakhstan," Minister Idrissov said opening the meeting. "Kazakhstan and San Marino are different in terms of land areas, but share political and economic interests." After the meeting, the Kazakh Foreign Minister noted that negotiations in Astana were pretty successful. "I believe that despite different potential, Kazakhstan and San Marino still have a chance for commercial and economic cooperation," he added. "This visit will allow us to deepen our relations and reach new bilateral agreements. The memo that we've signed today is the first step towards our bilateral cooperation," Pasquale Valentini noted. The official delegation of San Marino to Kazakhstan also included minister of economy and industry, head of the chamber of industry and businessmen.
