Kazakhstan's reserves make USD 60 bln to date - Nazarbayev

IRTAU. July 2.KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ To date the reserves of Kazakhstan make USD 60 bln, Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has announced it at the ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Kazakhstan Magnitka today in Temirtau.
"As you know, at the beginning of the crisis we had USD 43 bln of reserves. USD 10 bln was allocated for anti-crisis measures implementation", the President reminded.
"Kazakhstan withstood the crisis due to its potential accumulated within the independence years and the anti-recessionary measures", N. Nazarbayev stressed.
Alongside, the state fulfills all its social commitments on improving the quality of life of the population.
"Due to the anti-crisis measures we prevented reduction in production. On the contrary, in 2009 we observed growth while the whole world and neighbor countries experienced decline. We could also prevent rise in unemployment", the President noted.
