Kazakhstan's railway passenger traffic grows

ASTANA. August 27. KAZINFORM A number of passengers traveling by rail is increasing. According to the JSC "Passenger Transport" (subsidiary of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy"), from the beginning of the year 13,730,131 people used the service.
For comparison, over the same period in 2011 there were 12,293,332 passengers. Thus, the number of people who have used the services of rail transport increased by 11.7%, or 1,436,799 people.
This became possible after the introduction of new routes, optimizing inefficient routes, reduction of the time in transit of long-distance trains, increasing the number of trains, renovation of rolling stock, introduction of electronic forms of ticketing and other activities to improve the service, according to the press service of JSC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
