Kazakhstan's political stability and rapid economic growth will allow to conduct EXPO-2017 at a high level - Uruguay diplomat
During the bilateral meetings representatives of foreign countries stressed the importance of the theme "Future Energy" chosen by Kazakhstan.
"Today the world needs new, environmentally friendly ways of development. Kazakhstan is now focused on the "green economy." We believe that the debate about the future energy is one of the most comprehensive discussions of our time. That is why this theme was chosen for the exhibition EXPO-2017," Zhanar Aitzhanova said.
Laura Dupuy Lasserre, Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the United Nations Office at Geneva, believes that political stability and rapid economic growth in Kazakhstan will allow our country to conduct EXPO-2017 at a high level.
Mrs. Lassere noted that the theme "Future Energy" is especially important for Uruguay, given that 50 percent of the country's electricity is produced from alternative energy sources.
Member states of the International Exhibitions Bureau will be voting on 22 November 2012 for the country that will host the EXPO in 2017.
