Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship contributes to development of tolerance and inter-faith harmony - K. M. Bondevik
The visit aims at discussion of a draft report on human rights situation in Kazakhstan developed by the Norway Center for Peace and Human Rights together with the Norwegian Helsinki Committee. The document will be officially presented at a roundtable for NGOs within the OSCE Tolerance and Non-Discrimination Conference scheduled for June 2010 in Astana.
The Kazakh Ombudsman familiarized K. Bondevik with the priority directions of Kazakhstan's activity connected with protection and encouragement of human rights, the measures launched by the state in this direction, in particular, on freedom of faith.
"Chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the OSCE makes a significant contribution to development of tolerance and inter-faith harmony", the Norwegian guest said.
The Center for Peace and Human Rights is the non-governmental organization promoting peace, human rights and inter-faith harmony across the world.
