Kazakhstan's Embassy in Washington held reception dedicated to Independence Day

Around 600 guests came to the reception. These were representatives from the White House, US Department of State, Congress, Pentagon, mass media, etc. The guests were welcomed by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the USA Erlan Idrissov, Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake and political director of the Smithsonian Institution Carol Neves.
'I would like to congratulate Kazakhstan on Independence Day and on significant event - the OSCE Summit held in Astana. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton took part in the Summit which was organized at a very high level in our opinion. The result of the Summit was a deserved success', R. Blake said in welcome speech.
Ambassador E. Idrissov also introduced to the guests the winners of the international essay contest 'Discovering America' organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the USA together with the Tourist Association RATA and 'Air Astana' company. Zhanar Baisemizova and Olga Didenko who won the contest visited Washington within the tour on America that was the prize of the contest.
