On Wednesday, the Head of State participated in the session where the Government reported on the progress of implementation of the State Program of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development in Astana. "The essential result of the past six months is pretty simple - Kazakhstan's economy is gaining momentum. It is of paramount importance, especially given that the world economy is recovering slowly. Majority of experts make cautious forecasts for the year of 2014. Global economy shows little signs of recovery that are offset by ill-advised political decisions such as sanctions, ultimatums, and threats to end economic relations. This is a bad signal for global markets and economy," President Nazarbayev said at the session. The Kazakh leader praised Kazakhstan for achieving good results, however, despite improvements in implementation of the industrial program, they had little effect on the national economy. According to official data, the growth of manufacturing industry has slowed down recently. Its share in GDP slid from 11.3% in 2010 to 10.9% in 2013.
