Kazakhstan's bid to take temporary seat on UN Security Council discussed in Astana

ASTANA. November 8. KAZINFORM Senate Speaker of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Ambassador of Switzerland in Kazakhstan Mauro Reina in the Kazakh capital on Friday, the Senate's press service informs.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in the context of the forthcoming visit of President of the Council of States of Switzerland Fillippo Lombardi to Kazakhstan. In addition, utmost attention was paid to the preparations for the International specialized exhibition "EXPO-2017" in Astana, Switzerland's chairmanship in the OSCE in 2014 and Kazakhstan's bid to take the temporary seat on the UN Security Council in 2017-2018.
The same day Mr. Tokayev received charge d'affairs of the U.S. John Ordway to exchange views on the relevant issues of the Kazakhstani-American relations.
