Kazakhstan's armed forces strengthen independence - Nazarbayev

KARAGANDA OBLAST. May 3. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ Kazakhstan's armed forces are needed to strengthen the country's independence. President of Kazakhstan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Nursultan Nazarbayev said it at a briefing after visiting the Karaganda garrison during his working trip to Karaganda region.
"An independent state should have armed forces that protect the territorial integrity, freedom of the country and citizens. In this regard, since the first days of independence I have paid much attention to the development of our armed forces," the President noted.
"We have established special training centers, cadet schools. The University of Defense is under construction in Astana," Nazarbayev said.
