Member of the Russian State Duma, social activist and environmentalist Maxim Shingarkin noted that people, who are engaged in this issue, are well aware that Kazakhstan is the only country in the world that turned from being a state with nuclear weapons to non-nuclear state.

"The unique experience of Kazakhstan based on the introduction of a comprehensive interstate policy in the sphere of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation is not just unique, it is civilization-forming. Of course, our nearest neighbor Kazakhstan, demonstrating its geopolitical approach, teaches us how to carry out interstate policy, " M. Shingarkin said.

He also noted that Russia and Kazakhstan share similar outlook on nuclear problems. Right now the two countries are solving an important problem - monitoring of the movement of nuclear materials.
