Kazakhstan, Russia discuss strengthening energy cooperation

Kazakh Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov held a series of meetings in Moscow with representatives of Russia’s energy sector, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the press service of Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry.

In particular, talks were held with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev.

During the meetings, the sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including collaboration in the oil and gas industry, the electricity sector, as well as the development of joint infrastructure projects.

A mutual interest in further strengthening the strategic partnership and expanding cooperation in the energy sector was noted.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to continue active dialogue and to work on joint initiatives aimed at ensuring energy security and the sustainable development of the economies of both countries.

Previously, Qazinform reported Kazakhstan and Russia jointly implement 122 major projects worth 25 billion US dollars.
