Kazakhstan reports 4.7% increase in butter production

Butter production in Kazakhstan increased by 4.7% in 2024, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the National Statistics Bureau.

Last year, domestic companies produced 32,500 tons of butter, which is 1,400 tons more against 2023. 

According to the National Statistics Bureau, Kazakhstan’s butter exports rose by 2.3 times: 1,700 tons in January-December 2023, and 4,200 tons in 2024. The main importers of the Kazakh butter in 2024 were Russia, Turkmenistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

Meanwhile, butter imports decreased by 28.8% reaching 6,500 tons in 2024. The share of home-produced butter in the domestic market comprised 16.7%. The main suppliers of butter to Kazakhstan are France, Iran, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Finland, Lithuania, Poland, Pakistan and Türkiye.

34,800 tons of butter were sold in the domestic market in 2024, the National Statistics Bureau adds.
