Kazakhstan remains a leading trade partners of Kyrgyzstan: Z.Karibzhanov

ALMATY. June 19. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ The first session of the Interparliamentarian Commission for Cooperation between the Majilis (Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament) and the Zhogorgu Kenesh (the Kyrgyz Parliament) has been held in Almaty today.

Representatives of the Parliaments, diplomatic missions, Governments and other state bodies of both countries took part in the session. They discussed topical issues of political cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the experience of the legislative activity of two Parliaments within the world crisis overcoming, problems of labor and ethnic migration. Besides, the issue of tourism development in both countries was discussed as well. According to Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Majilis Zhanibek Karibzhanov, positive tendency in the development of the trade-economic contacts between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan is observed now. ?Kazakhstan remains one of the leading foreign trade partners of Kyrgyzstan. The volume of mutual trade turnover was up to USD 683 mln in 2008. Kazakhstan is an active investor to the Kyrgyz economy as well. It takes first place among 49 foreign investing states on the volume of the investments. The volume is up to 50% of total foreign investments to the economy of Kyrgyzstan?, Z.Karibzhanov said.
