The average depth of oil refining across the country’s three plants rose from 87.4% to 90% by the end of 2025, Qazinform News Agency learnt from the Energy Ministry.
In particular, Atyrau refinery performance increased from 85% to 88%, Shymkent refinery — from 86% to 88% and Pavlodar petrochemical plant — from 91% to 94%
This increase was driven by a higher share of light petroleum products from 70–79% to 75–81%, and expanded bitumen production at Pavlodar refinery, which grew from 366,000 to 426,000 tons.
Gasoline output also rose by 107% to reach 5.7 million tons, and diesel fuel hit 6.1 million tons, 116% up.
The Ministry stated that refining depth is expected to reach 94% through the modernization and expansion of refinery capacities.
